ABOUT THE VIDYALAYA
The dynamism and vision of our late Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi, took a concrete shape in 1986 with the establishment of Navodaya Vidyalayas. Navodaya Vidyalayas are residential,co-eduacational institutions which are established in almost each district of the country to provide good quality modern education.
This Navodaya Vidyalaya in Jashpur (C.G.) came into existence in 2006 which started functioning on 1st July 2006 and students of first batch were called to the Vidyalaya on 28 Aug. 2006.It is at present running in a temporary site at Jashpur Nagar in the premises of Govt. Girls College Hostel, Jashpur Nagar.The permanent land has been allotted at Village Dhodidand, Teh.Kunkuri,Distt. Jashpur (C.G.).

Encompassed amongst the forest of Chhattisgarh, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya , Jashpur(C.G.) is situated at Jashpur Nagar. Carved out from the hilly terrains as well as plains, this Vidayalaya is 480 Km away from State Capital Raipur by road for reaching the destination. There is also railway route facility from Raipur to Raigarh railway station which is about 270 Km and from Raigarh the Vidyalaya is approachable only by road at a distance of 210 Km. on the Raigarh-Ranchi road.

Geographical Location of the Vidyalaya |
The North south length of this district is about 150 Kms. and its east-west breadth is about 85 Kms. It total area is 6.205 sq. Km.It lies in the Northern corner of Chhattisgarh adjoining the border of Bihar Jharkhand & Orissa in the eastern side. It is between 22 dig. 17 min and 23 dig 15 min North latitude and 83 dig. 30 min and 84 dig 24 min East longitude . The upper ghat is an extension plateau covering 1384 sq. kms Which is about 1200 meters above sea level and is covered with the dense forest. The elevated plateau called"Pat" Nichghat is plane is genral Buy It also having many big montains . Kunkuri is the hottest region in nichghat during summer and Pandrapat is the coldest region in uppper ghat in winter. The main towns situated on the national high way (N.H. 78) are ludam. Gholeng and jashpur in the Uppar ghat and Kunkuri . Bandarchuwah, kansabel, Ludeg and Patthalgaon. The running roads from Jashpur H.Q are (a) Jashpur Ranchi (2) Jshpur Ambikapur via Manora, Kusmi (170) (3)Jashpur Ambikapur via sanna Bagicha (170Km) These 2 and 3 are not all weather road.
